SAP Solution Manager Data Refresh

Hi, We are planning to refresh our SAP Solution Manger System which is running on 7.1(SPS17) in Oracle/Solaris Platform and having some doubts. 1, Whether we can refresh SAP solution Manager  or need to build new system and bring data content from reference system ? 2, Second Question - Is there SolMan Specific pre-requisite steps for Data refresh, so that we do miss any projects, Documentation, ITSM dashboard,etc Appreciate your inputs. Hi Soma,

Why do you need to refresh your Solution Manager system? This will impact/delete all your existing configuration/data in existing Solution Manager.

Considering you will bring data from other solution manager then you need to perform all the steps/configuration (EWA, ITSM etc.) again. Also other system connections will be impacted.

Whichever way you want to go (new installation or refresh), take export of Projects and Project documentation from your existing Solution Manager.

Hi Manish, Thanks for quick reply. Here is our requirement. We are in the process of having new Sandbox Solution Manager system, for that purpose we are exploring the ways how to achieve that. My understanding about your suggestion, System refresh(data) is not correct approach to do this for Solution Manager as this going to impact/delete all your existing configuration/data in existing Solution Manager. All we have to build New SolMan System and bring the Projects and other components from other SolMan System. Please correct, If am wrong. Also do share us notes or any documentation how to export projects, documentation from other SolMan System to deploy in new system. Thanks Again and appreciate your help. Hi Soma,

As per your scenario it will be best to build new system and copy/migration project/data from existing Solution Manager to new Solution Manager.

It can be done through solar_project_admin. Please find below several discussions about how to migrate project data between different solution manager.
