Change connection from OLE DB to ODBC
I need to change my db connection to ODBC in order to use the feature Multi subnet fail over
Relevant dsn’s have been created on both the app server and the machine I’m working from and connect without issue.
I am able to edit the connection, apply the change to ODBC. Test successfully and save.
The issue arises when I view through the data foundation. Expanding the connection supplies the following error:
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified
Similar issue occurs If I try to show tables values
To note:
In order to test further I created a new project, connection and data foundation attaching to the required DB using OBDC. I’m able to create a new data foundation and when expanding the DB connection am presented with the standard view of schemas and table. I can select those, bring into to the DF and view table values etc
Is there a parameter I can assign to the ole db connection to allow Multi subnet fail over?
Is there another way I can change the connection from ole db to odbc ?
Any help is much appreciated
Thanks
Matt
After changing the connection drivers have you recreated the connection shortcut in the project folder?
If you will do the connection short cut it will ask to overwrite the connection.Overwrite the connection and try.
