Stock Type Q & S

Dear team,

Could you please clarify the difference between these below stock types & in what business case this can be used?

What is the movement type to be used to move the stock into this stock type?

Q- Unrestricted use of materials provided to vendor

S - Stock of materials provided to vendor, restricted use.

    As per the SAP help document General Information on Stock Types - Inventory Management and Physical Inventory , stock type is 3 types and there are no existence of stock type Q or S. Can you please explain where did you get these details ?

    Be sure that you are not mixing stock type with special stock.

    Please elaborate your requirement that from where have you seen this stock type.

    why you want to change the stock type.

    Hi Selva

    Q-- PROJECT ORDER

    S- same as you told

    movement type are 101 gr for Q,

    321QTransfer posting QI project to unrestr. project stock321Q

    301q plant to plant

    Refere this expalin in details of the movement type for project stock Q

    Project Stock - Managing Special Stocks (MM-IM) - SAP Library

    Transfer to own stock:

    Enter movement type 411 and the special stock indicator Q .

    Goods receipt for purchase order/for order:

    Enter a goods receipt for a purchase order or for an order as normal using the movement type 101 . If an item is assigned to a project (account assignment category Q), the system automatically sets the special stock indicator at goods receipt.
