Product - Compont Reference MDT - Material Description not displaying

Hi Experts,

I have copied SAP2 model and created a planning area. Here, "Component" is defined as a reference master data, referencing "Product". Accordingly I have loaded "Product" master data into IBP. There has not been any separate loads for "Component" master data.

Now, in the planning views, "Component Product ID" and "Material Description" are being displayed as "None", whereas "Product ID" and "Product Description" are being displayed correctly.

Please advise on what should be done to view these details as well, even if "Material Description" and "Product Description" end up being the same.

Is there any indicator which says that X is a final product and not a component or vice versa. I saw an attribute "IsComponent" in the "Product" master data type. Currently it is blank for all products. Is this the reason that "Component Product ID" and "Material Description" are being displayed as "None"? Then what should it be populated with?

Hi Paul,

Component is a reference MD table, so it will contain everything that is loaded Product table.

The issue you have, I assume it could be related with the Key Figures you selected for display in the planning view. Did you select KFs that contain Component MD as part of the planning level? (e.g: DEPENDENTPRODUCTIONDEMAND)
