CMS & Audit DB to DB2

Hello Admins,

We are planning to migrate BO CMS and Audit schemas from Oracle to DB2.

Currently we are at BO 4.1 SP4 Patch 4.

Could you please let me know the procedure involved.

Best Regards

Sandy

    Hi Sandy,

    Please ensure you check below requirements for DB2 and then migrate :

    IBM DB2

    ● Ensure that the DB2 database is created with the following settings:

    Collating Sequence = "Identity"

    Codeset = "UTF-8"

    Territory = "<XX>"

    Replace <XX> with the code that is appropriate for your location. Consult your DB2 documentation for more

    information. If your DB2 database does not have the Collating Sequence = "Identity" setting, the

    user and user group objects may not sort as expected in the CMC.

    ● Create a user temporary table space before installing the BI platform. If you do not create a user temporary

    table space, the BI platform installation program will not be able to configure the DB2 database.

    For more information on user temporary table spaces in IBM DB2, see DB2 Basics: Table spaces and buffer

    pools in the IBM technical library: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/data/library/techarticle/

    0212wieser/0212wieser.html .

    ● When using IBM DB2 to host an Auditing Data Store database, ensure that the page size for the auditing table

    space is set to a minimum of 8192 (8 KB).

    ● Ensure that the CMS system database is not partitioned. The Auditing Data Store database may be

    partitioned.

    Once it is done you can simply use Copy database as mentioned by other to migrate the db.

    Regards,

    Mahak

    Stop the SIA.

    Right click on SIA and click Properties

    Go to Configuration tab, click Specify

    Choose the option 'Copy data from another data source'

    Try these steps:

    1. Use the CCM to stop the Server Intelligence Agent (SIA).

    2. Select the SIA and click the Specify CMS Data Source button and select the appropriate driver.

    3. Select "Copy Data from another data source

    4. The select the current database I am using in the "Get data from" and select the new db in the "Copy to the following datasource"

    Make sure that you have valid cluster key information.otherwise you will not be able to respoint the SIA to the newly copied DB.
