Cannot explode Sales BOM

Dear Experts,

We found similar problem as below -

The system did not find a valid bill of material

Message no. V1113

Diagnosis

The system tried to find a bill of material for the material entered, taking into account material T01-00503H-CA7XX62, plant 8600, date 20.07.2016 and BOM usage SD01.

However, no bill of material was found.

Procedure

Check the data entered.

Also found the above error and could NOT explode Sales BOM when creating SO in VA01. However, didn't find any missing in the Configuration, Material Master and BOM, i.e.

1) Define Item Cate. (VOV7) - setup for High Level Item Cate. ZTAB (customized) -

Structure scope = A

Application = SD01

2) Assign Item Cate. (VOV4) as below -

For your ref., we had customized High Level Item Cate. ZTAB & Low Level Item Cate. ZTBB.

3) Material Master - "Sales: Sales Org. 2" view -

According to the above VOV4 assignment in point 2, set Item Cate. Group ZERA for High Level Item Cate. Material; set Item Cate. Group ZVEP for Low Level Item Cate. Materials.

4) BOM is still valid (until 31.12.9999) as below -

Expected result should be -

Item 10: T01-00503H-CA7XX62 - Item Cate. ZTAB

Item 20: 480-20431-000002 - Item Cate. ZTBB

Item 30: 480-20431-000003 - Item Cate. ZTBB

However, only the above Item 10 with the above Msg V1113 could be found.

Could you advise how to solve the above problem ?

Hi Fong,

Why you have different item category group for component items. Any specific reason for that?

Dear Satyajit,

The Item Cate. Group of Component Items is ZTBB if it is UNDER the High Level Item ZTAB. It is ZTAB if it is inputted to sell individually and NOT under the High Level Item. The related business process is that it may be sold individually as the spare parts.

Below is the relevant Item Cates. for your ref. -

ZTAB

For your ref., the lower sections from "Value Contract" are blank.

ZTBB

For your ref., the lower sections from "Bill of Material/Configuration" are blank.

To correct from the above reply, the Component Items are not required to sell individually and by Component Items of the High Level Item. However, these items must be purchased individually in PO so these Items are only shown in SO, DN & GI mat doc., but not required to show in Invoice for the Customer. Therefore, both "Billing Relevance" and "Pricing" are blank for this Item Cate. ZTBB.

Try with structure scope B for item category ZTAB.

Dear Satyajit,

I think the problem should not be due to "Structure scope = A" as the above Configs. had been implemented to our Production server for long time and there is no problem on this server. The above problem was just found in our Development server today.

For your ref., the above Configs. in our Production server are also the same.

Could you also advise ?

Your config is correct. I will suggest you to recheck all your master data in Dev.

Thanks for your advice. Just found that a "Deletion Flag (RC29K-LOEKZ)" under the Header Level of Sales BOM was checked. After unchecking this "Delection Flag", the above problem could then be solved.
