EPM (10.0) Report-Performance Issues - taking long time / No update

Hi All,

We are experiencing major performance issues when running EPM (10.0) Reports, Especially when we refresh a report that has a YTD calculation in it. We run the report, it refreshes for about 10-15 minutes and then when it returns nothing is updated.

Could some one share their experiences. Thank you !!

Hi Sree,

there are a lot of reasons for performance issues, related with bad server configuration or epm add-in.

Trace the report and see where it loose the time, on server or on client and after check the documentation to improve performances.

Hello Roberto,

Thank you for your valid information.

I wanted to tell you I do checked BPC statistics for the EPM Reports with transaction code UJSTAT in the back-end to understand where the performance bottleneck is occurring on server or client side. Here I am attaching the screenshots of back-end system and also Logs at EPM (Front end side). Could you suggest me further approach after seeing the below screenshots/error message from Logs.

I see below error message from the EPM Logs "There is a problem with the XML that was received from the network".

Hi Sree,

your images are impossible to read.

to enable epm add-in trace see please first this note 1891006 - How to Capture Performance Logs for EPM Add-in and also this blog How to trace EPM HTTP communications using the Fiddler utility and related notes, just copy the number of the notes because the path is wrong.

Really appreciate your time you spend on my Issue. I tried to race EPM HTTP communications using the Fiddler Utility, but I am unable to get the Logs. I am trying on SAP Notes which is under the same blog, will update you my findings further. thank you !!
