TFS source control in PB12 sometimes missing objects when getting the lastest

Dear All:

We sometimes encounter a strange issue, when all the objects are checked in the TFS server, during getting the lastest version of whole project, there are sometime one or two objects missing, it is very scared, when the project is large and multiple member invovled, we may get and deploy the wrong application to end user, we event get the complains from our customer about this , could Sybase provide solution about this. the worst thing is event no error message told us which is missing.

Define "missing"? Missing from source, or they don't get imported into the PBL on other developer's machines?

One problem we had with PVCS is that we had required comments turned on. When the developer would check in new objects they added a comment for the new object. They would then be prompted for another comment unexpectedly and, not knowing what was going on, would hit cancel.

The unexpected prompt was the required comment for the changes to the PBG file. That's the file that PowerBuilder uses to keep track of what objects should be in the PBL. When the developer hit cancel on the dialog, they ended up not checking in that change. So the source for the actual object got checked in, but the update to let other developers IDEs know to add it to the PBL got lost.

It may be safest to always check one item in at a time from the project tree and not multiple from the library painter.

I also faced the same problem with TFS. We are using PB 11.5 version.

What we found that sometimes, the .PBG file don't get updated when you add a new object into TFS.

Since then, as a additional check, we also started monitoring PBG file with the newly added object.

You can check the PBG file to confirm if that object present in the file.

    Thanks
