To the Gurus out there,
I got a question. For the ARM, we have set an escalation to move the request to the alternative role approver.
After the request has been escalated to the alternative role owner, the administrator then reroute the ARM to the original role owner.
Will the escalation still trigger or will it stop escalating? I suspect that the escalation is a one time thing since there is no config for recurring or further escalation.
Can anyone confirm?
JY
Hi,
if it is a reroute(not a forward), the request goes back to the original stage.
Job SWWDHEX, which runs in every 3 mins(standard value), checks whether escalation criteria has been met or not.
So, there will be escalation, again

Hi Jonathan,
In case you are trying to send the request back to the main approver after the escalation is enabled you can set up an infinite delegation between the backup approver and the main approver.
When the escalation is enabled to the backup due to the delegation set from backup to main the request should again come back to the main approver and one of the approvers can take action.
This will reduce the burden on the Admin having to reroute the escalated requests to the main approvers.
