Unable to use 0EQUIPMENT_HIER datasource

Hi,

I am trying to activate the business content data source 0EQUIPMENT_HIER in ECC,  in RSA5 transaction, selected the data source and activated it. It does show up in RSA6, but I can't see any field in the data source.

RSA6 screen,  there is error marked symbol in the status.

Extract structure screen,

   

RSA3 extract checker is running for a long time and not displaying any records.

is there any customization required for activating this data source?  Please let me know,

Hi Sreekanth,

The red icon you see in RSA5 is a bit misleading. It doesn't mean the DataSource is inactive or has any issue; it just means the DataSource is not released for ODP usage. See SAP KBA 2173041 for details.

Furthermore, RSA3 is not apropriate to test hierarchy DataSources such as 0EQUIPMENT_HIER. Try using program RSA1HCAT instead.

Thanks Raman and Roger, that helps, I didn't know that, flag is for ODP usage.

I tried to run the program RSA1HCAT for 0EQUIPMENT_HIER data source, it is going for short dump,

I checked service market place site, with the dump description, could not find any related content.  There is some configuration missing in ECC for this data source, not sure how I am going to resolve this issue.

Have you gone thru program - RODPS_OS_EXPOSE and mentioned Wiki?

This program is to release the data source for ODP frame work, but my requirement is just to use this data source as similar to other data sources from ECC source.

ODP source system is not configured in our landscape,

I couldn't find any related information on fixing the issue, I have created a support note to SAP, will wait for the reply.

please check with functional team, you may need to reactivate business function at SFW5 which is related to your data source.

Thanks for your note Raman,  our functional team is not sure about the services to be activated in SFW5 Transaction,

We are using 0EQUIPMENT_ATTR, 0EQUIPMENT_TEXT data sources with out any problem, it is to get 0EQUIPMENT_HIER is the new requirement, not sure what to do on this.

Perhaps, I will write a message  to SAP to get help.

As i think hier data source may not be released to use by the ODP.

please Explore usage of program - RODPS_OS_EXPOSE.

there is a useful Wiki about this program,

please search by using key word as "Releasing Extractors for use by the ODP API".
