need help - difference between CONF21 & PPCC2PRETTICKET01 - when to use which ?

Dear Experts,

Need some help in understanding the difference between the SAP std message types CONF21 & PPCC2PRETTICKET01 for production order confirmation. I understand both are almost similar but am not sure in which case each one is used to set up interface data flow between external system and ECC. Allow me to explain my client requirement :

- Manufacturing plant creates process orders and triggers LOIPRO messages to an external WMS partner who does the following activity and plans to send back messages in flat files

Activities done by the WMS provider on receiving the LOIPRO messages from ECC

a) order confirmation

b) scanning, labelling, palleting, loading, shipment list creation and shipment processing

- Objective is to set up the inbound interface between external WMS provider & ECC to capture the order confirmation and post goods movement in ECC

- The order confirmation (which is currently been done standalone in ECC via trxn COR6) should have two stages - 1st stage partial confirmation and the 2nd stage final confirmation

- The partial and final confirmation would be defined by the operation no. in SAP and accordingly the WMS provider would make change sin their outbound file to indicate the operation no.

Can anybody please guide whether we should go for CONF21 or PPCC2PRETTICKET01 in the inbound mapping file ?

Appreciate your guidance or suggestion !

    Hello Samik,

CONF21 and PPCC2PRETTICKET01 both transfer confirmations from subsystem

CONF21 is the 'old' CC2 interface, the other is the 'newer' PDC interface.

I normally see only the new PDC interface in use.

For example only for the new one you have a user exit, see FAQ 1609187 point 3.
