can I use 561 to add special stock in productive system ?

Hello Experts,

i have a question regarding the famous mb1c Transaction.

As known, we can use this to add stock for material , normally i use this transaction with movement type 561 to add material in test system.

However we are facing the issue:

it is a packaging material A and it is the only material we kept as stock at the customer side.

Our expectation is to track the material as customer special stock in MMBE.

Now the question :

1. we need to migrate the existing stock at customer from legacy system into the SAP system , can I use movement tpye 561 ( TA m1bc ) to add those old stocks into sap system ?

2. if yes do I need to do anything else to avoid some accounting or financial problem ?

3. if not , how can I add this kind of stock into system ?

* this material is stock relevant, and not price relevant. We create a header material as BOM header - material H ( which is not stock relevant ) and this material A is added to create a BOM. Material H is price and billing relevant and not stock relevant. ( controlled by item category ).

Thanks!

regards

Imagine a big global player with just one SAP system who is rolling out his system to plants all over the world or even buys other companies and surprise them also with the SAP system.

How else than with 561 movement could they get the stock into the production system?

561 is the designated movement type to create stock for an initial data load, stock from nowhere so to say. It is usually customized to hit a certain account and this account is just open for the period of stock migration and validation.

And validation means that quantity and value are matching with the quantity and value of the legacy system.

561 is not a movement type to be used everyday for ongoing business.

Try your movements, you have got a test system. Check the accounting entries that you create with your movements. You are the only one (together with your finance guys) who can tell if quantity and values match.

As your question is the answer, you are not creating stock from anywhere but you are migrating it from your legacy system

      2. if yes do I need to do anything else to avoid some accounting or financial problem ?

Accounting will be impacted if your materials are valuated, means you have accounting view and certain price. Migration do results in quantity and value. but you need do this along with your finance team.

      3. if not , how can I add this kind of stock into system ?

561+V can be used you want to load stock to special stock. Packaging material can valuated or non valuated depending upon the system settings or material setup.
