Is there a way to include custom report parameters in the latest version of Crystal Reports for BI 4.x.

In Crystal Reports 2008, hierarchy or dynamic search filter parameters are not available. Currently, these custom filters were introduced by plug-in the custom code written using Crystal reporting framework and BO API.

In BusinessObjects 4.0 version, Crystal reporting framework got completely redesigned and report parameter rendering logic was removed from JSP files. So, we are not able to plug-in the custom code written using 3.1 version Crystal reporting framework and BO API.

Are you talking about doing this for the viewer within BO? (From BI Launchpad or OpenDocument.) If so, there is no way that I know of to "officially" do this. You could potentially find the .jar file that this is compiled into, break it out, do the updates, and then redeploy. However, you would have to do this every time you upgraded and, more importantly, if you do this SAP will NOT provide support for any issues that might arise.
