EP 7.0 to 7.4 or 7.5

Hi Gurus,

I need your help in deciding which EP version should I upgrade to from my current version.

The current EP is 7.0 with mainly all the Custom WDJ applications for MM module.

Since EP 7.5 has already been rolled out so which version do I get it upgraded.

Kindly suggest.

Hi Ravi,

You can upgrade to both 7.4 and 7.5, as the upgrade to both is basically the same, however there are differences between 7.4 and 7.5. SAP recommends to upgrade to 7.5.

Lets start with the fact that the mainstream maintenance of 7.4 ends at 2020, whereas 7.5 should end at 2022, which is two years later (those future dates are the correct ones for now).

Moreover, there are differences from product perspective, features etc.

To summarize, it is recommended to upgrade to the latest version.

Can you please tell me what benefit will the customer get in Upgrading to 7.4 or 7.5 as the EP is used for only custom applications for MM  in WDJ.

So why is it necessary to upgrade, is SAP going to stop supporting EP 7.0? How beneficial will be 7.4 or 7.5 in case only custom applications are present.

Hi Ravi,

EP 7.0 ends its mainstream maintenance support period at the end of 2017.

EP 7.5 ends its mainstream maintenance support period at the end of 2022.

Hence now is a good time to start planning the upgrade process
