Can not change pooled space of a rental space

Former Member

Dears,

Our rental spaces change frequently, and the pooled space assigned should be changed some times.

But I can not change the pooled space of a rental space.

The button of  "change pooled space assignment" is gray like screenshot below.

Could you pls help me to solve this issue?

Best Regards

Hi Chen Yuqing;

Is there any error related to "No authorization" while you're trying to edit the pooled space?

If yes, then you need to approach the BASIS team for  role authorization of editing the pooled space.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Hi Shantanu Kar,

In my test system, I have sap_all profile, and I think it's not the authorization issue, could you pls try to edit the pooled space assigns to the rental space in REBDRO transaction?

Thnaks for your reply.

Hi Yuqing,

It is not possible to changed the pooled space assignment once the rental space is created.

This is standard system design, no relation to authorization.

Dear Bowen,

Thanks for your reply, you have solved my question.

But if I can't change the pooled space assigned to rental space in standard system, what can I do when two pooled spaces merged into one?

For example, I have a pooled sapce A and a rental space A01 belongs to A, and I have a pooled sapce B and a rental space B01 belongs to it.

From 2016.07.21, we merge A and B into a new pooled space AB, and rent it as whole.

Could you pls give me some suggestion about this business scenario?

Thanks

I‘m curious how do you merge pooled space A and B into one pooled space AB?

Simple stop using B, and extend A?

Dear Bowen,

Extend A and block B is alright for me, but the rental sapce B01 will be keeped in future, it's basic unit in our office, if I can't change the pooled space of B01 from B to A, could you pls give me some suggestion?

Thanks

Hi Yuqing,

I think I have no idea about how to merge two pooled space.

As both pooled space A and B should be used continually, in my opinion, you should not change any of them until all related business done, but instead, you should create a new pooled space.

Hi Yuqing,

I agree with Bowen that it is impossible to change the pooled space once rental space is extracted from it.

Pertaining to your merging of Pooled space A and B, you definitely can't do that. I suggest to end the validity of Pooled spaces A and B until 2016.07.20 then create a new Pooled Space AB with validity that will start on 2016.07.21 then use pooled spaces A and B.

Hope this helps. Thank you.

Dear Bowen,

Thanks for your reply, I can create a new pooled space such as AB, but as A01 has already been assigned to A, we can't use rental space A01 in future because we can't assign it to the new pooled space AB.

Our need is to seen A01 and B01 as minimum rental unit, and they are not changable.

Have you ever met the scenario before, and could you please give me some advice?

Dear George,

Thanks for your reply, it is helpful for me.

But after I create a new Pooled Space AB, I can't assign Rental Space A01 and B01 to AB.

I want to use A01 and B01 in future as well.

I'm looking forward to your suggestion.

Best Regards.

Hi Yuqing,

Pardon me, you can't assign the two old rental spaces to the newly created Pooled space 'AB' since Rental Space A01 originally came from Pooled Space A and Rental Space B01 came from Pooled Space B. These rental spaces can't be assigned to other or new Pooled Space unless they were originally extracted from it. What I can suggest is that you Create a new Pooled Space AB then extract two new rental spaces and just name it with A01 and B01.

Hope this will help you resolve your concern.

George

Dear George,

Thanks for your reply, I can't extract Rental Space A01 from new Pooled Space AB since A01 was already exist and was assigned to Pooled Space A.

I can delete Rental Space A01 first and then extract A01 from Pooled Space AB.

Regards and Thanks
