Dear Experts,

I have requirement to document end to end data model flow in SAP BI system.

This should include full data flow from Multiprovider to PSA with all objects involved, Transformations mappings and if any routines used in mappings, DTPs and logics used in it if any, fields in each object.

Similarly for Report level as well.

I wanted to know if there is any good way to accomplish this in SAP BI Workbench with less manual work. Or if there is any free tool i can use to extract this info.

Hello,

You can achieve that by using standard ways.

If your version allows it (from BW 7.3), you can use "Data flows" tab in rsa1. It allows you to graphically drag and drop the selected objects you want to document and use the existing links between them. Quicklinks are available to show "Objects on level afterwards", "Objects on level before" from a starting object.

When your dataflow is updated with all the objects you want  to document, you choose the "Data flow documentation" button. It will provide you complete list of technical properties of the objects selected : modelisation of providers, mappings of transformations (rules types, codes...), queries...

It can be a good starting point for dataflow documentation.
