Mandatory fields at CS01 - Create Material BOM

Hello Everyone,

I'd like to know if the 'Change Number' field is commonly set as a mandatory field before executing the transaction CS01?

Also, what is true meaning of such field?

Can different plants use the same value of this table list without suffering any problem?

Where can I edit such table? SPRO?

Thanks in advance,

Julio Pagliarini

    Dear Julio,

The change number field can be configured by doing the following steps

    1. Go to SAP T-code OS27 ---Mark the check boxes BOM Validity maint. , EC management active & History reqmt.

    2. Go to SAP T-code OS25 -- Mark History Requirement for the BOM usage - BOM status combination

Kindly check the above settings and change as per your requirement.

The meaning is to have the history of changes made in the BOM which will be useful for tracking purpose

Kindly write me back for any further clarifications

    Best Regards

      Dear Julio,

The message can be changed as an error message by assigning an authorisation object 'C_STUE_NOH' under the role of an user who is responsible for making BOM changes. After assigning change the field value of of 'NOHIS' to 'NO' as shown below.

Ex:- If julio is an user responsible for BOM changes and the role assigned to julio is ZPP_USER. Assign this authorisation object (C_STUE_NOH) under this role and make necessary changes as said above.

Take help of BASIS person if required.

Kindly write me back for any further clarifications.

      Best Regards
