Can a key figure format be converted to a characteristic - master data format? If so, can you please provide the steps.
Example:
Cost Center in key figure format (Sender Receiver relation), users can change the Cost Center value at the line item level. This has to be later converted to a master data value and stored for future reporting.
Key figure format, based on legacy system. Zeroing out the $ values for the old Cost Center and recreating a new line does not work.
Thanks for your help.
Hello,
you mean to say that you want to update the master data i.e character value from key figure value?

You can take two approaches. First one , create a characteristic info object of type NUMC and upload the master data values from the key figure. Generally costcenter and other fields which doesnot require any mathematical operations are created as Characteristic infoobject of type NUMC. Is there a specific reason you created it as keyfigure.?
Second one, In order to have the values to be inputable for a characteristic, there is something called Characteristic as Keyfigure. This would help here you can find an example for Char as Keyfigure.
You can choose based on your requirement.

Tharun.
