dear all
why does the direct source to DTP say "for small amounts of data"?
is this something prior to HANA, meaning, is it ok if there are large amounts of data if BW is on HANA, because i would like to run records in via ODP, this way.
also, what is "small amounts", i have 4 million records using PSA takes 20 mins, using ODP direct, that 2mins
so what constitutes to "small amounts"?
thanks
can anyone help me out with this ?

Hello,
In my release (740 SP12), the message "only for small amounts" is not specified.
In the help (F1) it specifies the following :
"You can load the data for all source systems without PSA directly into the InfoProvider, if you extract small quantities of data using a DTP with the 'Full' extraction mode (for example, small quantities of master data).
For ODP source systems you can also load mass data and delta directly into the InfoProvider."
I think the mention of "small amounts" is related to Direct Access without ODP... meaning that extraction time would be impacted if huge transformations are executed at BW side (bypassing PSA). In case of ODP support of huge amount of records looks supported.
So I think you can go for ODP option.
Hope it helps,
Regards,
Christian
