SAP PP using non stockable items

Hi Experts

I'm analyzing the possibility of implementing SAP to manage service production. The materials used will be non stockable items.

We will be selling services (service material type) that will have a BoM (and the components will also be service material items). This should trigger the creation of production orders, and once services are produces, the sales order can be billed.

Has anyone ever implemented SAP PP using only non stockable items? Did yu found any constrains in implementing this scenario? Any important information that we should be aware.

Any information regarding this topic is highly appreciated.

Many thanks

Joana

    Hello Joana,

The process you describe can be better mapped using the customer service (CS) module of SAP. You can create a service order which can have activities and even materials issued to it.

PP module is more suited for production / manufacturing units which produce something.
