updating Crystal Report for BI Launch Pad users

There are a couple of similar posts for this scenario/problem - but they didn't help me:

Using Crystal Reports 2016 and Crystal Server 2016.

One vm (server_vm) has both Crystal applications installed.

Another vm (client_vm) uses BI Launch Pad to access reports on server_vm.

  1. A Report is built on the server_vm
  2. On server_vm, CMC is used to add the report to a folder accessible to a user.
  3. the user uses client_vm to access the report successfully
  4. developer opens original report on server_vm and makes changes to it and saves it
  5. user on client_vm reopens the report but the new changes are not propagated!

So what is the step to propagate the changes?

From within CMC if I right-click the report there is a "Refresh Options" button but it did not make a difference.

Instead of using the CMC to add the report, just publish it from Crystal - File>>Save As>>Click on the "Enterprise" icon on the lower left, log in, and put your report where you want it. This will overwrite the existing report.

Then, the user may have to log out of BI Launchpad, close the browser to clear the cache, and then log back in to see the update.
