Analysis for MS Excel Report is not opening

Hi All,

I am opening Analysis Workbook in the BI Launchpad, but the report is opening through Adobe reader instead of Analysis for MS Excel.

Can you please help out here in opening the Analysis Workbook in Analysis for MS Excel.

Attached the steps I'm taking in the document.

Hi Srinivasulu,

The issue is due to the incorrect file association.

Change the file association for the downloaded file. Since the downloaded file is opening in Adobe reader, it means that you have associated the file type with Adobe reader.

Please take the following actions to correct the file association

By default the downloaded file should have an icon as shown below

If the icon of the Analysis for office file is anything other than the above. The File association needs to be changed. Following are the steps to change the file assosication.

Open the downloaded file location

If BiOfficeLancher is listed in the options select it, else click on “Choose default Program”

Make sure “Always use the selected program to open this kind of file” if “BiOfficeLauncher” is available.

If the BiOfficeLauncher is not available in the list thenc click on “Browse” and browse to the folder C:\Program Files (X86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Office AddIn\

And select the file BiOfficeLauncher.exe and click open

After this step BiOfficeLauncher will be available in the list of associated programs. Highlight “BiOfficeLauncher” and check “Always use the selected program to open this kind of file” and click ok.

maybe your default program of Windows if not correct.
