Changing standard aggregation of key figure InfoObject (RSDKYF-AGGRGEN)

Hi all,

we have modeled a key figure InfoObject with the wrong standard aggregation "MAX". The InfoObject is used in several data targets, which also have data. We'd like to change the aggregation to SUM.

All records, where this key figure is used, currently have the value 0,00 for this key figure.

In RSD1 it is no longer possible, to change the standard aggregation.

I wonder, if it would be possible to change the field RSDKYF-AGGRGEN from "MAX" to "SUM", reactivate the key figure and reactivate all affected data targets and transformations.

Has anyone done this before?

The solution approach to model a second key figure (with the correct aggregation) and implementing this into the data targets, causes too much effort for us.

Hi Philipp,

There are 3 options:

1. Creating a new key figure and mapping it across the data model - which is cumbersome but its safe

2. Changing the same KF which require deletion of data.

3. SAP Note 579342 - Changing key figures that are used in InfoProviders ( This should proceed with extreme care which might result in inconsistencies during migration of objects to target systems i.e. QA, Pre-Prod etc ), some have achieved this successfully.

Hope this helps

Hi Lars,

1.) is of course the safest way but requires lots of efforts.

2.) might actually be an option for us... I think we can remove the key figure from the data targets by means of remodelling tools

3.) only talks about data type conversions; the SAP note does not explicitly mention the change of aggregation behavior

You can adjust or modify the table using SE14, this will allow you to change the KF. but its not the safest as can result in inconsistencies.

Las.

Hi,

You can use reference key figures as well, so you can change the way of calculating, you will have multiple KF's in your Cube/infoprovider, but you need to load only one!

Great stuff!

hi,

try to change aggregation property from MAX to SUM  at Bex level.

Hi Jay,

this is not an option as we need to correct the aggregation behavior already at the data model level (especially between DSO to Cube transformation).

Because of the MAX aggregation, the transformation of that key figure is already "wrong" with regards to data updates into data targets with a "smaller" key.
