Change functional area in cost center master

Hi Expert,

Need your help to resolve the issue.

I have requirement to change the functional area in cost center master data. System gives an error message "Transaction data already exists." Message no. FH600.

Hi,

basicaly you have 3 options

1 - Create new CC ,repost all relevant cost to it, and close old one

2 - Change message control in oba5, and change FA

3 - Change message control in oba5, repost all relevant cost to any CC,change FA and undo reposting

Hi Deepak,

It is recommended to open a new cost center with desired functional area and block the old one after clearing all the dependent entries of it  or you can change the message type from error to warning.

I will check with first option but I am doubtful whether client will accept this. Can you please give more details about how to clear all the dependent entries?

Client has already rejected second option; change the message type from error to warning.

It would be more helpful if I get best solution to the issue.

Hi Deepak,

Clearing dependent entries means ,whether any open PO's or any parked entries, so complete these before blocking that cost center.

Hi...

You should create new valid from date with the first day using analysis period(MENU : edit -> analysis period) in change cost center screen.

Then, you can change functional area using new period.

I have check with new period but it does not work. It gives same error message "Transaction data already exists."
