Desing studio application stop working in BIP mode after installing Design Studio BIP add on 1.6 SP2

Hi,

Design Studio application is stop working when we run it in BI platform after upgrading Design Studio BIP add-on from 1.6 SP1 to 1.6 SP2 (on BO server 4.1 SP7),

Before installing Design Studio BIP add-on 1.6 SP2 on BO server, Design Studio application was working in both mode Local as well as BIP mode or also It was running from BO Launchpad,

Now after installing Design Studio BIP add-on 1.6 SP2 on BO server, I can still run it in Local mode but unable to run it in BIP mode and also not able to run it from BO Launchpad.

when I run design studio application (existing or if create new design studio application using upgraded design studio client 1.6 SP Patch 1) in BIP mode or while launching it from BO launch pad, its keep remain in execution mode as shown in below screen sot and selection screen or output not coming..

Note: we have also restarted BO server after installing BIP add-on 1.6 SP2, though its not running in BIP mode.

Note: Design studio application is running fine in Netweaver mode after installing design studio netweaver add-on 1.6 SP2 on portal..

Hi Team,

The Error is now resolved by repairing Analysis application service's DFO file. now able to run design studio application on BO platform (BIP add on version 1.6 SP2 P1)

Dear Team,

We have now updated the Patch 1 of 1.6 SP 2 on BO server but still there is same issue, unable to execute already developed or newly developed design studio application on BO platform and it remain hangs for infinite number of time..

And in CMC also APS is still with warning:

Servers > Service Categories > Analysis Service> AdaptiveProcessingServer  > right clieck on it > go to edit common services > there is entry of "Analysis Application Service' entry already but

what I notice is that our AdaptiveProcessingServer is enabled but State is 'Running with Errors' as shown in below screen shot even after applying patch 1 of 1.6 SP2.

Any suggestion please..

I have  tried what KBA note 2193939, i.e. created new AddaptiveProcessingServer with just "Analysis Application Service" and enabled and start it but it goes to same state 'Running with Error' same like existing AdaptiveProcessingServer entry, please see below screen shot..

Any Idea how to solve this error regarding APS state ''Running With Error' which causing problem running design studio application on BI platform which  remain loading forever only in BIP mode?

If those steps do not help, please open an incident with SAP Support

Try updating to 1.6 SP 2 Patch 1 when it is released. See note below.

thanks we can try 1.6 SP2 Patch 1 but when it will be released? it is showing week 27 it will be released but week 27 already finished..

(so all customer whoever have upgraded to BIP add-on 1.6 SP2 are affected since 8 June 2016 (release of 1.6 SP2))?

Can you please refer the following SAP KBA Note and check whether it helps you:
2193939 - Design Studio object is loading forever while attempting to execute on BI Platform

As per this SAP KBA Note, please check the following:

1. Login to CMC and navigate to Servers ->  Service Categories -> Analysis Services.

2. Create an AdaptiveProcessingServer with just the "Analysis Application Service".

3. Start the above mentioned newly created AdaptiveProcessingServer and ensure that the same is

    in enabled and running state.

So still I have to create new APS with just "Analysis Application Service" & start it in running state?

Hi,

Can you please create an AdaptiveProcessingServer with just the Analysis Application Service

and start the newly created AdaptiveProcessingServer and ensure that it is in enable and running state as mentioned earlier here and check whether it helps you.

Also, please try to correct the error appearing for the AdaptiveProcessingServer you already have with Analysis Application Service . You can check for the error occurring by clicking on yellow exclamation mark present near Running with Errors present under column State.

Hi Dushyant,

The AdaptiveProcessingServer with Adaptive Processing Server running with error is the reason for the problem occurring. Please check for the error occurring and try to correct it and check whether it helps you.

But i am unable to click on yellow exclamation mark present near Running with Errors present under column State. (Also double left click opens APS property window only)

How to check the yellow error?
