Please help. I am trying to work in SE80 in local objects, but this list is completely blank and does not even give you the option to select local objects.
Have the latest GUI installed 740 on windows 7. The SAP R/R 4.6 application server is running on windows 2003 Enterprise edition.
I have followed many threads with all of them telling me to use the latest GUI update which I have now installed (GUI 740) , but the problem still exists.
Can someone please tell me what to do.

I'd suggest you post some pictures, so we can understand exactly what you mean.

Another screen dump showing the message "This page cannot be displayed" together with the following message in the blank area. Make sure the web address mk:@SAPHTML://4QFP87BwT4ENKT7FPZY%7DjG is correct. •Look for the page with your search engine. •Refresh the page in a few minutes.

+1 to Gareth - "pics or didn't happen". Also an obvious question: are you sure any local objects actually exist under your user ID?
If I go to SE80 and chose "Local Objects" from the dropdown, it puts my name in the second field. Then when I click the glasses button it brings up a list. You can also search by package $TMP (that should display all local objects, not just yours).
I really doubt GUI version or any information you provided (don't know about 4.6 though, I started with 4.7) is relevant. Otherwise you'd have trouble opening other objects too. I don't really see why would only the local ones be affected. Just thinking logically.

Hi
As Jelena writes I don't know if there's a problem of incompatibility between GUI 7.40 and R/3 release 4.6 (It's very old release) anyway
you can try to check this note:

As I understand from OP, the problem existed in other GUI version and did not change with GUI upgrade, so it's unlikely is the root cause. "This page cannot be displayed" message is quite odd, I'd check with the local Basis admin.
