DISCOUNTS VS PRICE DISCOUNTS

I’m configuring  a series of % discounts in SD. Each needs to apply a % to the price, not to the value (SAP default), so the price per unit decreases with each discount.  The result is a slightly different final total value from the standard method.  I can’t find a way in standard config, all I can do is a standard value: can you suggest anything?  Do I need a custom requirement?

With the percentage discount you'd get the same result either way because percentage is a relative value. Let's say you're selling 10 items * 2$ per piece. If you want to give 20% discount you can apply it to 2$ but $1.6 * 10 = 16$, which is the same as 20$ (10 * 2$) with 20% off. Under what conditions are you getting a different result? Some extreme rounding?

Don't really understand the issue here, to be honest (and I seem to be not the only one).

P.S. Kindly don't use all caps (ALL CAPS = shouting) unnecessarily. Also sticking to the basic font is best when posting questions. People access SCN on many devices, you never know how fancy colors would render for them. Better to spend extra time on something more productive.

Hi,

If the calculation type is 'Percentage' , it always calculates based on the condition value. If you want it as per the quantity , use the calculation type as quantity  but you wont have provision to enter the Percentage.

You can cater this requirement by writing custom routine in the calculation type.

Thank you for your time

Hi Gyana,

Your requirement is not clear to me. Can you explain it with your business scenario?
