Hi,

       How to interface bar code scanner with SAP to do the serial number selection in delivery stage. Currently we are using one bar code scanner, When i scan the bar code it was scan & select the bar code. After every scan i'm giving the Copy To button to move the serial num from one side to another in serial number selection window. I have asked the bar code scanner dealers for the solution, they ask me to give the ASCII value of that Copy To button...!!!!! My requirement is the bar code scanner will do all the thing by one click...

                                                                         I'm Stuck on this problem.Please help me guys

Well, the easiest way to find is to use your keyboard.

Try to simulate which key or key sequence you need to press to achieve your requirement, and then tell the Vendor your key sequence.

Then they can add those key sequence after barcode they read.

You are right, it seems no shortcut key was defined for hitting the ">" button.

In this case, you will need to have a light-weight add-on to do this.

What's B1 version and PL?

As i mentioned above, it seems there is default key combo in std b1 to achieve this.

I built a simple add-on for this. You can try. There are limitations.

The attached file is zip file, you will need to remove the .txt extension since forum doesnt allow me to post .zip file.

Basically, you will need to use lightweight add-on to install it, and then with the add-on running. Here is the result.

1. Enter your serial number in the Find field.

2. Press tab to select serial number.

3. Press "I" (upper case i) to insert the serial number (like you press the > button)

So in your case, you will need to ask scanner vendor to add Tab and I at the end of each scan.

Obviously, if you have "I" inside serial number, this will not work. Yon can contact me for more customization.

BTW, this will only work on 9.1 at this moment.

              Thank you so much for your reply. I'm using SAP B1 9.0 and PL11. Can you have the lightweight add-on for this. i couldn't understand the removing the .txt extension process. Can you please explain!!

I dont have 9.0 to test this add-on, so I am not sure if it can be deployed in 9.0.

However it does work perfectly in 9.1.

The original file I uploaded should BarcodeSelection.zip

since forum doesnt allow me to upload a zip extension file, so I append .txt at the end, and then the forum add another .zip at the end.

So after u download, u will need to extract the .txt first, and then remove the .txt to become .zip file, and then that's file can be used to deploy to 9.1 lightweight add-on.

On version 9.1, there is a link at at the bottom "Manage Extensions for lightweigh deployment"

it is really depending on your installation. If you dont have any add-on, and didnt do any bad things against sap policy, then you can consider to do it yourself.
