Hi Milen, 1.   I don't see the "MOVE" option in System copy tool to copy the Source to Target system. I do see only "COPY". May i know where can we find the Options "MOVE/COPY". 2. Due to issue with original track After system copy in order to use new track. I did created new track(track2) from old track(TRACK1) in CMS and used "Forward from History" button from Approval tab with more recent Approval SCs. After that i had imported new track into NWDS and got all the application but its its giving errors in every Standard statement. I checked JAVA was configured in NWDS was good. May i know any reason to showing error in code. But its build and deployed too with no isses even if have error showing in code implementation area. Thanks Rag

Hello,

Thank you for the screenshots.

I am afraid you will have to repeat the System Copy Migration.

If you would like to Forward track from the "source System Copy NWDI" to the "target System Copy NWDI", you have to make the System Copy with option COPY.

This is necessary due to the DTR resources will have unique ID.

This action

"...  I have created new track from "Forward from History"   From CMS track 1.  ..."

is not allowed when you have made System Copy with MOVE.

At the moment with this forwarding you have corrupted the DTR database.

This is why the activities do exist on the "source System Copy NWDI" but does not exist on the "target System Copy NWDI".

So, the fastest way to solution would be to repeat the System Copy migration with option COPY.

Hello,

The system copy of the NWDI should NOT be done by selecting 'move', if the 2 systems (the source and the clone) will work in parallel. The problem here is that after you have completed the System Copy you have forwarded the track from source to the target NWDI. With this you have corrupted the DTR database.

CBS & CMS might NOT be copied with MOVE option. So you have done them with COPY.

Please read the guide mentioned in the post from Jul 6, 2016 4:13 PM

Some more background information...

The DTR relies on unique workspace IDs. In option 'move', the workspace IDs would have been exactly the same. Hence when this option is used while copying, there will be all kind of inconsistencies, if you make a communication on any level between the 2 NWDIs (you have made forwarding).

The 2nd option 'copy' should be chosen when the both systems will work in parallel. In this case a new IDs are generated for the target (clone) system. Then it is possible to run both DTR servers in parallel. The DTR content is the same but the workspaces have different IDs.

In your case - as well - if you want to forward a track from the source to the target System Copy migration NWDI - you should repeat the System Copy migration with option "COPY".

Before making a system copy it is absolutely necessary to close all open activities on the source system. Then one could proceed with the copy of the DTR. If there are open activities on the source system then these activities will be corrupt on the target system. In this case it is not possible to revert, to check in or to do whatever with it. Only through database operations it is possible to cure this state.

Good luck and Regards

Hello Raj,

How exactly you have "moved to new domain"?

You do mean that you have done System Copy of the NWDI (in particular the CBS, DTR)?

If yes, with what option you have done the System Copy?

MOVE or COPY?

About the creation of any track you do so in the CMS and in Landscape Configurator you do add the Products, with the relevant version, defined in the SLD. (you might have more than 1 version for particular product - every version for different release f.a. v.1: 7.11, v.2: 7.20, v.3: 7.40 & so on)

Another option is so called "Track Forwarding"...

You might achieve this by the "Forward operation" in CMS Approval tab

Do the following:

1. Open track1 in CMS.

Approve the most recent SCs(target SCs to be copied to track2) that are pending for approval in Approval tab of CMS.

2. In track1 in CMS, click "Forward from History" button.

Select the SCs having been approved.

Populate track2 in "Target Track" and execute "Forward".

3. Open track2 in CMS (same NWDI server), open "Development" tab.

It might be found the SCs having been forwarded from track1.

The SCs should be ready for import. Selecte the SCs and import.

4. In NWDS - Development Infrastructure, import the track2 from SLD.

There should be displayed all the DCs under the SCs have been forwarded from track1 to track2.

5. In NWDS - Development Infrastructure, right clicke on each DCs and create project.

The download of project per DCs should be successful.

Hello,

Have you imported the SCAs from this "new" track in the CMS - Transport Studio?

If yes, was this successful operation?

What is the situation in the CBS in the development buildspace?

If you have not done System Copy, it does not matter.

For your information:

Yes, i have imported the SCAs from new track in CMS - Transport studio. Select all the all SCAs from development and imported. Now see them in Consolidation "Waiting for import". CBS Buildspace - New Track is showing in "Active" situation. Thanks

Hello,

... well, you have to be able to import the "New Track" in the NWDS.

Please share some screenshots how exactly you do try to import it?

For Consolidation is too early to discuss. In the NWDS, 1st you have to

create activity and DC,

make your source changes,

release from Transport View

and activate it in CBS (if it is not configured to be activated automatically)

Then you might import in CMS - Transport Studio - CONSOLIDATION (provided there are no other problems on the way)

About the CBS development buildspace - check whether you do have Broken / Dirty DCs!

Please sort the relevent columns, when you open the CBS buildspace and examine what SCs have been imported.

Hi, CBS Build space is good with no Broken and dirty DCs. Imported from NWDS - Development Configurations Perspective. then import configuration - remote then see all tracks except my new track. I didn't see any file attachment place here. Thanks Rag

Hello,

Are you sure you do connect to the correct system from the NWDS?

I do not understand this " I didn't see any file attachment place here."

What kind of file and where is this "here"?

Would you please be more specific?

Hello,

Truth to be told, I doubt that anybody might be able to investigate these screenshots. In the future when you post screenshot on the SCN would you please attach them one by one and in a better resolution.

I have gone through the SCN thread over again and have tried to understand the issue better...

I have noticed that:

1. "We moved to new domain and having issue with CBS not showing all the activities which are in old Domain (Old CBS)."

It is not clear to me whether you have done a NWDI System Copy.

However, I might not imagine to do this in other way. Hence I have concluded that you have made a System Copy.

2. "... old and new CBS is not in SYNC."

"...  I have created new track from "Forward from History"   From CMS track 1.  ..."

Provided you have done the System Copy with MOVE option - you have corrupted the whole DTR database. (so far it definitely seem to be the case)

I am afraid you will have to repeat the System Copy with option "COPY" so you will be able the 2 DTR to run in parallel.

Another option is to repeat the System Copy with "MOVE", but to turn off the source NWDI in order to make sure that nobody in anyway might cause any communication on any level between the 2 NWDI.
