One Basic question : What exactly mean by Classic in Project Management (SAP Solman)? Is it any Classic version or Classic view etc.

My Client told me that they are currently using Project management classic in Solman 7.1 and they need to implement same functionality in  Solman 7.2

Please help.

Hi Rohan,

there is nothing classic as such but your customer might mean that they have a solman project with basic BPML or Business Process Hierarchy structure for the same

But please note there is a big difference in solman 7.1 and solman 7.2 as there are no project or solution and you will have entirely different way of doing things in solman 7.2 with NEW SOLUTION DOCUMENTATION

please check below documentation on content activation which you have to perform during upgrade process

If you do the upgrade then only it is possible to continue with your project migrated to solman 7.2 other you have to do everything manually in new version.

Hi Prakhar,

Also I have one doubt : If there are some customization done in  Solman 7.1 with respect to ABAP will it be migrated automatically through this upgrade process or we need to do all customization again manually in Solman 7.2

Hi Rohan,

It depends upon the type of ABAP developments which have been done

for e.g. if you have developed something for solar01/02 then it won't ....as these doesn't exist at all in new version

so it depends upon the case to case basis and normal upgrade procedure has to be followed.
