Characteristics to key figures - Not the usual case

Hi Experts,

I have a reporting requirement where two characteristics involve. Characteristic Name as Columns and Below this column I need A,B,C,D values to appear. A,B,C are dummy values but in reality it contains Chars.

Report currently appear as below:

Result to appear as

What is the best possible approach i need to take in order to achieve this reporting requirement?

      Hi Imran,

      Thank you for your response.

      The report consist of 769 columns and millions of records as rows, Cell definition will not help in this case.

      Here, i'm using only two characteristics which doesn't have any master data tables and no key figures available to restrict.

      Data in the rows should appear against each respective column.

    Use Numbers for A, B, C.... like A=1, B=2, C=3....

    Develop a query which will display 1, If D_990 = A, 3 if D_990 = C.

    Now design a workbook. In first sheet get the output of query and second sheet write a logic to get desired output using Excel formula.
