I have installed the stand alone Java System locally on my laptop. The type that I used was Java System - Oracle - Central System - Custom Installation. My operating system is Windows XP.
The J2EE server starts up but there is about a 10 minute period where it is trying to connect to another system. This is the developer trace and the problem starts at Thread 5384:

Does anyone know how I can eliminate this error? Thank you for you assistance.
Alex Zelinski
Hi Alex,
You probably have SLD server running on this instance and the Data supplyer bridge admin is started as well, so the configuration of the DSB is pointing to the sapgateway
but you don't have one.
Just go to the sld -> administration -> DSB and stop it you don't use it, or point it to existing one in the network.

Add this:
sapgw00 3300/tcp
sapgw01 3301/tcp
sapgw02 3302/tcp
To:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\services
172.0.0.1 isn't another system, it is yourself, a loopback IP address. sapgw00 may not be defined in your services file.
My java engines take about 8 minutes to get up and running under normal conditions. 10 minutes on a laptop is not that bad in my own opinion.
