it depends on the requirement - is it business critical reports like that...
I believe you got some reason for trying this.. it's fine as long as you don't get any technical issue.
Sivakumar, I don't think it will even let you install on a desktop OS - you could with BO 3.1/CRS 2008 and older, but the newer versions specifically look for a server OS as part of the installation process.

if he is really wants to install in desktop then he can bypass the validation by using MSI editor, I guess license violation.
