Gabriel,

1. There were no major changes in CR 2016 security comparing to CR 2013 version.

2. According to the Product documentation, Crystal Reports 2013 supports FIPS 140 standards, see page 11 of : https://www.sap.com/bin/sapcom/en_us/downloadasset.2009-01-jan-20-08.comparison-of-features-by-versi...  The same would be for CR 2016.

3. Crystal Reports 2016 is a part of SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform 4.x family of product and according to KBA 2067031 (https://apps.support.sap.com/sap/support/knowledge/public/en/2067031) it is Compliant with FIPS 140

Regarding the type of Secure Connection, could you be more specific? CR connects to Relational Datasourses, SAP Datasources, Cloud Datasources like Salesforce.com, public webservices also connects to BI Platform Servers, Every connection is different and sometimes CR has to follow the third party requirements like in case of Salesforce.com.

Is there any particular connection you are planning to use?
