Hi,
I would like to have a planning board similar to active version to create various simulations but don't want those to affect the active version and moreover don't want the new adopted active version (000) to get affected in the simulation version in new version.
My idea is to create a new version (copy from active version) and to copy data from active version 000 to the new version.
And later to use it for planning board purpose of various simulations so that the adopted simulation version in new planning version wont affect the actual active version and vice versa.
Please let me know your thoughts on the same, does it have any impact on the active version.
Thanks,
Prasanth
Prasanth,
In general, performing transactions in a non-active version will have no impact on the active version.

This is the whole purpose of having multiple Planning Versions.

Hi Prasanth,
As said by others, the main reason to have different versions is to facilitate this process of simulation. All the version act independently of each other, so you would require to maintain the data accordingly.

Dear Prasanth,
Yes as we can maintain multiple Planning versions for planning, The data in active planning version 000 will only be considered while planning. So, having many planning versions will not effect the planning.
