Hi,Expert

From XI3.0 to PI7.4 is aware and can not directly upgrade.

We are considering migration from XI3.0 to PI7.4.

XI3.0 from to PI7.4 PI object (ID, ESR) export, or you can migrate in the import?

XI/PI (Dual Stack)

Best regards

  • ESR content will be a direct export / import with some corrections where required. Mapping bug fixes, compatibility checks etc. Eg SAP  note : 1264871
  • Integration Directory - you can either use the Export / Import or the Migration Toolkit ( link from the previous response ). The recommendation is to use the Integration Directory Migration Toolkit.
  • Adapter Modules will also need to be re-coded to use the new API's from PI 7.1 ( You can refer to SCN for this )

Hi,Bhavesh

XI3.0 migration from (Dual Stack) PI7.4 to (Dual Stack) has been the understanding that can be achieved in the following P.24-P.30 [Creating a new PI 7.3 Installation] and the same scenario of the link .

Ask further questions
What you should also use the migration tool kit in the migration in Dual Stack?
I also think that should be used in the transition from the Dual Stack to Single Stack.

We would appreciate it if you would your opinions.

Hello Yohei,

  • The Integration Directory Migration Toolkit, can be used on both Dual Stack PI 7.4 and Single Stack.
  • The Integration Directory Migration Toolkit, converts your Classical Configuration ( Sender Agreement / Receiver Determination / Interface Determination / Receiver Agreement ) into a Integrated Configuration ( ICO ).
  • So, typically when you perform a PI Migration ( either Single Stack or Dual Stack Migration ), it is recommended to use this toolkit so you can start leveraging the new ICO features of PI.
  • Finally, the Migration Toolkit cannot be used for scenarios where the sender or receiver business system is a ccBPM ( Integration Process ) and these need to be migrated either manually or through a export / import of tpz files.

Hope this makes sense!
