Unable to restrict fiori search in launchpad

Hi,

I have setup the SAP Fiori with Hub deployment option i.e. with separate Back end system, front end system, and Web dispatcher system.

Everything is set now, But I found that when user is not assigned with any of the authorisation then also he is able to search all factsheets and also able to see the results of the factsheets,

I tried to restrict the authorisation with the help of below thread but didn't helped. And question still arise when user has no authorisation then how he can view & search on launchpad.

Restricting Authorizations for Searching - SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search - SAP Library

Could anyone kindly suggest what could be the issue here, Or what is missing here.

Thanks & Regards,

Kiraang.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. But I have not provided any authorisation in front end also and in back end also ( only SAP_ALL profile is provided), Even after that factsheets apps I am able to search & get the results.

I have also checked after deletion of browser cache & history but issue still persist.

Hi Kiraang, you should do some research on what SAP_ALL means.

If you don't know: it means "allow him to do everything" or "license to kill"

Hi,

SAP_ALL has nothing to do with the Fiori Search that is what I believe. Although I tested that part also by removing that profile from front end & back end also but again I am still able to search factsheets results even though there is completely no roles/ profiles assigned.

Kindly suggest which other area I should look for.

Kiraang.

Hi Kiraang,

Profile SAP_ALL can let user to use Enterprise Search to search the business data.

After you remove the roles/profiles from that user, please try to clean your browser's cache to check the result.

Hi,

As I mentioned earlier, Even after assigning no Roles , User was able to search everything.

I raised issue to SAP and then after execution of report ESH_REFRESH_RUNTIME_BUFFER things got fine.

This report is for refreshing the Enterprise Search backend cache and sometimes helps to solve authorisation problems.

I also found that SAP_ALL gives all access for search, So kindly ignore for previous guess.

Thanks Lutz & Ning for your suggestion.

Regards,

Kiraang.
