Good Day SAP Family,
I have been asked by our company's client to investigate if we can utilize two fields for reporting purposes in BI and standard SAP reports for Semi-finished and Finished goods.
The clients is in the food manufacturing industry.
I have investigated and tried to do the customizing and have seen that the BRAND_ID field is available as an optional field with screen group 200.
Field MBEW_OWNPR has no "screen selection group" assigned and I do not know which category of valuation to assign it to in order for me to make it available on material type HALB or FERT.
Can anyone please advise if this is possible or confirm that these two fields are only available for RETAIL INDUSTRY.
Regards,
James Block

Give some number there (In standard, we can allot a number from 1 to 240 for the field selection group) which is not used in any of the field selection group. Then, note down the field reference for your industry sector using transaction OMS3 and make the desired field status of that field reference in the transaction OMS9.
Can anyone please advise if this is possible or confirm that these two fields are only available for RETAIL INDUSTRY.
Once you make the changes to the field reference (in OMS9) which assigned to the Retail industry (in OMS3) then the changes will not apply for other sectors.

Hi Juergen,
There are others with me on this and appreciate the concern.
My task is to find out what the configuration is to populate these two fields. I understand all the config requirements and therefore am so grateful for all the responses above.
I can safely advise the project team that this requirement cannot be fulfilled and will close the requirement.
Thank you all!
regards,
James Block

Hi Juergen L,
I have checked and the light bulb is white. What does this mean to the client who works in the Food Industry.
I need to explain that I am new to this SAP project customizing environment and don't fully understand what the impact of the white or yellow impact has other than what you described before.
What impact would it have if they activate this and can they activate it even if they are not in RETAIL?

James Block

to my knowledge has this activation some impact on your purse, the retail solution is a industry solution that needs an extra licence. It may also change processes, brings new functions and can restrict functionalities in your current solution. I hope you are not alone, and you better ask the people who are usually dealing with the Switch framework, in our company this can't be done from anybody, especially as some switches cannot be turned back.
Good Day All,
I thank you for the response to my query.
Rosh A:
I have done the configuration in our test environment by adding the field MBEW_OWNPR to many valuation selections groups to try and populate it under Accounting View and even on its own with a new field group but it failed to display for Material types HALB & FERT for the food industry sector.
Do I confirm that with BRAND_ID, I will not be able to use it in Food Industry Sector?
Prasoon AK:
I unfortunately don’t have the time now to research what Brazil SAP fully entails. I thank you for your response and helpful links.
Sudhakar Chaganti:
I followed the same path in which you have illustrated. I thank you for allowing me to see I was on the right track.
Thank you all once again.

Hi,
Yes, the fields are industry specific. But if you are working for Brazil, please go through the note: 1448603 - Material master data: Support for Brazilian fields and 1446774 - Enhancing core master data maintenance for Brazil
