User unable to access one particular dimension

Hello BPC experts,

I am facing yet another issue in our latest BPC 10.1 installation in dev system where the BPC administrator, who has the Admin access and full_task profile, is unable to open and view one particular dimension which is of type Entity. He is able to open and view the rest from the available list.

Interesting thing here is, he is able to view all the other dimensions until he clicks on that one particular dimension (for eg COST_CTR) which he is unable to view from the beginning. Once he clicks on COST_CTR, then nothing else works, i.e., he is unable to view anything now. As mentioned earlier, he has all required authorizations in the Web Admin.

Can anyone help ?

Thanks,

Shingley

Hello Shingley,

Can you please check if there are any dumps in ST22 when Admin is opening that Dimension? Also, can you check if SLG1 reports any errors?

Do you know if that Dimension has any data? Is this Dev system, i.e where Dimension was create or some other where it was transported form Dev?

Hi Gersh,

Thanks for your reply.

There are no dumps reported in ST22 for this. Yes, there are errors in SLG1, but they are just warning that some ZBPC_* role does not yet exist. Nothing more apart from this warning.

Yes, this dimension has some data and this was transported from Sandbox to Dev system. All of us are facing the same issue and only in one environment. The same dimension exists in another environment too, but we are able to work with it.

Thanks,

Shingley

Hi Shingley,

This became confusion. I thought you are talking about Classic model, but in that Model each Dimension can be in only ONE Environment.

Can you please clarify,

Gersh,

Well, I am not sure about Classic model stuff, will surely get back to you on that.

But, we have found a workaround after a lot of analysis. Just log in with another user in BPC Admin, try to make some changes to the members of dimension (some minor changes), and then save and log out. Log in with affected user ID now, the issue is no more !

Thanks,

Shingley

Sounds like it might be caused by dirty data in table RSBPC_WEB_UP. Check if Note 2068917 applies to your situation.

Hi Andy,

BPC 10.1 SP level 0008

BW 7.4 SP level 0013

UI SP level 0015

All BPC Admin users except myself are facing this issue, only for that dimension and in only one particular environment. I hold the same BPC authorizations as others.

Thanks,

Shingley
