I use the substitution with HR Renewal and I'm wondering whether or not it's possible to enhance the list with badi/function or whatever?

have you checked the BADI WF_SUBSTITUTE?

search help IBO_SEARCH_USER to select a user * additional configuration here). You can check this if it helps

probably you need to enhance this IBO_WDCC_WFL_SUBSTIT?

Sure, cause i work with various customers in helping them configure system so typically these are the questions they ask and of course most information can be got from RKT material and searching on Google and SAP NOTES, which provides lot of information which are not there on SAP Help page.
