Confirmation Update Runs

I would like some advice on confirmation update runs...

My business is using ATP for sales orders based on stock and released receipts and we are able to confirm 90% of our sales orders this way as we sell the majority of parts from stock. However, when we cannot confirm the expected delivery up front we want to make use of Confirmation Update Runs. ATP is using a "first come first serve" basis and all of our customers are set to normal priority.

In order to be consistent with our message to customers the confirmation run must trigger when a net change in planning takes place on an item. The run should look for items that were unable to be confirmed and change their status IN THE SAME ORDER as they were loaded and ATP checked on them, first come fist serve.

Can someone confirm that the setting therefore: Document Creation Date, Ascending - with a tick in the setting Net Change Run?

Also, how can I provide notifications to my sales team that an order which previously had an unconfirmed date for a product can now be confirmed to customers? At the moment, we send one order acknowledgement when the order is placed so if there is no confirmed date up front the customer is getting no further notification that "back order" items are now available to ship.

Thanks

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

The trigger to your confirmation update run cannot be set to as "When Planning relevant change happens to an unconfirmed product". If you maintain the above setting, the system will only pick up orders for ATP check with products for which planning relevant change has happened.

The order which were previously confirmed will remain untouched. The trigger to when the run will be initiated has to be set by the end user at an interval you think is appropriate.

I hope this helps. If you have any more questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Regards,

Anand.
