SYBASE IQ LICENSE ISSUE

Hi Team,

I have installed Sybase IQ 16.0 Sp 10.I have created to Database(DEV,QAS) using SCC.I have applied license for  IQ_LOB,IQ_VLDBMGMT(unserved model type) in License folder .After applying license License displaying in DEV ,but in QAS it not displayed.Kindly please provide your valuable sugestions

Hi,

At First you have to activate all option by default and then apply the needed options.

you have to allow the usage of the features:

sp_iqlmconfig 'allow', 'IQ_LOB';

sp_iqlmconfig 'allow', 'IQ_VLDBMGMT', 3;

Hi,

the idea is that you do not use a feature accidently.

Let's say you use IQ_LOB accidently and you create a table using the feature. This works very well for the first 30 days when you're running in the grace period. But then your IQ will not start anymore because you you don't have a license for IQ_LOB. Really painful. In this case you must contact your sales rep for a temporary IQ_LOB license. Then you can start IQ and remove the tables using the feature.

I have already applied license for SYBASE IQ.License reflected in DEV .but in QAS it is not reflecting.

Hi,

you have to run both sp_iqlmconfig commands (see my reply above) in order to allow feature usage.

Are there any messages regarding license issue in iqmsg file?

And you can check the enablement of feature with the following sample.

1. IQ_LOB license check

   - create table IQ_LOB_TEST (c1 clob);

2. IQ_VLDBMGMT license check

    - CREATE TABLE IQ_VLDBMGMT_TEST(c1 INT, c2 INT)

      PARTITION BY RANGE(c1)

      (p1 VALUES <= (0), p2 VALUES <= (10), p3 VALUES <= (100))
