Change the page shown when you open a new Tab in the NWBC

Dear all,

is it possible to customize the new Tab page in the NWBC? Preferably i would like to open the Indexpage or the SAP Easy Access-page instead of the overview page which is shown using the standard settings. Customizing the new Tab page, would be also ok.

We are currently using the NWBC 5.0 with Patchlevel 12 and SAPGUI 7.4 with Patchlevel 8.

Best Regards,

Hi Ulrich,

for the initial start of the NWBC you can customize different content types using the NWBCOPTION.XML file. See my attachment. Or do you want to customize the contens of the, for example, New Tab Page and you you do not want to see a special block?

Best regards.

Hi Jens,

thank you for your fast response!

I know about the XML-files and i already customized them, but i did not find anything about how to customize the New Tab Page (not the entry page, which would be customized by your code).

There are 2 things which would be ok:

If i could "remove" some blocks from the New Tab Page or at least get the workplace block to the top left.

If i could   replace the current New Tab Page with for example the SAP Easy Access page.

Best regards,

Is there a way to start transaction SMEN (SAP Easy Access) automatically when connecting via a NWBC connection.

The goal would be to create all NWBC connections in the SAP Business Client (no SAP GUI entries).  We would then configure the connection to start with the SAP Easy Access menu instead of the default NWBC landing page for some systems.

This will also help us configure the client we are connecting to as NWBC connections allows to specify the target client number whereas SAP GUI entries do not allow us to specify the target client.

The SAP shortcut connections allows me to specify the target client, but he the user enters the wrong password, the logon prompt changes to the default SAP GUI logon.  Also, SAP shortcut connections defaults the Windows logon as the user ID and our Windows account do not match our SAP accounts.

Hi Roy,

i hope i don't get you wrong, but i think i adpted the NWBC so it does what you want.

In our clinic i set it up like this:

1. If the NWBC is installed, the user automatically gets the NWBCRemoteOptions.XML-file from us

2. In this file I defined the "FirstPinnedTab" as the entry page and that the NWBC remembers the last Login (on which System the user logged in)

3. in the .Tabs-files there is a entry for the user with which i define the first pinned tab, in our case the transaction "NWP1".

4. For getting directly to the System (not needing the SAP-password) we are currently testing the SAP Single SignOn in our Testsystems and it seems to work in our case.

Like this the user has to choose the System which he wants to work in at the first start. Afterwards he is automatically logged in to the System he Chose and gets as first tab the NWP1 (in your case the SMEN).

If this is what you want, i could help you to establish this Setup.

Regards Ulrich

Hi Sandra,

maybe i was not clear enough with my question. The Problem is not to change the entry-page, which is opend, when you start your NWBC. The Problem is the page which you get, when you open a new tab by clicking the plus Symbol.

Ulrich
