Material stuck in quality inspection stock

Hi everyone.

I have QM module defined so that no inspection posts into quality inspection stock. However, during configuration, for the one plant InspTypeForInspStock was the original 0800 (which posts to quality inspection) instead of a newly created Z0800, which doesnt post to quality inspection. Inspection type 0800 is not set to this material (nor to any other).

During a procedure in production, reversal of scrap, movement type 552 triggered moving the quantity for this material into quality inspection stock. No inspection lot was created. How can I move this from quality inspection stock to unrestricted stock, where it should be?

What I have tried is following:

- running QA08, mass processing, and adding Inspection Type 0800 to the material which was incorrectly posted; the system recognizes the material, but does not create any inspection lot (I have createdmaintained inspection plan for this material for both origins 9 and 5)

- transaction MB1B with movement type 321 gives the error that this movement should be done via QA11

- QA11 nor QA32 do not display any inspection lot for the stated material (without any other filter, dates wide open)

- MB52 shows the quantity on the quality inspection stock

- In table MCHB there is one item with the stated quantity for the material and its shown that it is in the inspection stock

What should I do to move this material from the quality inspection to the unrestricted stock?

Thanks in advance!

Marko

At the time of material movement was there any inspection type activated in material master? You can check in MM03 with display changes in material master to check if someone has deactivated it after the movement.

As I read further, you are getting error while doing 321 through MB1B. That drives me to conclusion that an inspection lot must be open in system. Could you please check in QA32 (by choosing option select all inspection lots with wide date range) if there is any lot with status SPRQ or SPST? If you you can post the stock against it.

If you still do not find any such inspection lot in system, I would go with Arijit to implement 48815. Let us know if this resolves your issue.

Hi Anand and Arijit.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions.

Yes, at the time of movement, I had two inspection types activated on the material:

- custom (Z) inspection type for origin 04 (Good Receipt from Production)

- custom (Z) inspection type for origin 89 (Miscellaneous)

Those two are working fine: inspection is lot is created during the production process and it can be created manualy (for example via QA01 with the reason 89). The first one is configured not to post to inspection stock (which is working correctly: whenever I have a goods receipt from production order, a new inspection lot is created with all the right parameters, as stated in the inspection plan) and the other one never posts to inspection stock (but also correctly created inspection lot). So, for those two, everything works OK.

Now, what happened is the following:

- movement type 551 was done (scrapping) - this step was correct: the material was scrapped, from the unrestricted stock

- movement type 552 was done afterwards (reversing the movement type 551) - and here is where the problem starts: the goods are now moved to quality inspection stock instead back to unrestricted stock

I have checked both QA32 and QA11/QA12, but there are no inspection lots for this plant/material/batch combination. Also, when checking with QVM2, it doesnt give any results.

I will try going with the note 48815 and will let you know if this gave any results.

Hi Anand and Arijit.

Solving this issue turned into a teamwork. After exhausting all QM possibilites, we went to recheck all configuration.

The reason for the material to stuck in quality stock was missconfiguration of movement type 552. What we did then was:

- configuring the movement type 552 correctly

- moved the quantity to scrap again

- removed all QM checks for that material

- manualy moved from scrap to quality inspection

- manualy moved from quality to unrestricted stock

- reinstated the QM checks

Thank you for your help!

Hi Marko,

Try SAP Note 48815 and confirm if this is posting your stock form Quality to Unrestricted stock.

Thanks,

Arijit
