Lumira self service storyboard for business analysts

Hi, I would like to know how a business analyst would work on a storyboard in production to create his/her own version of story or visualization, with a live scenario (steps would be great)

I checked below links and they are very helpful in understanding the concept/basics

Hi Krishna,

Would the business analyst have access only to Lumira server or even the desktop ? And when you say live scenario, do you mean live connectivity through HANA ?

Hi Varun I mean a real time example with SQL server db, informatica and universe as the backend. I am searching for links or documents. By the way analysts have access to both server and desktop.

Real-time with Lumira is possible with HANA online

Hi Krishna,

Two ways to approach it,

1) the business users to acquire, prepare, visualize, and compose the data in the Lumira Desktop. Then share this on the Lumira Server for other team members.

2) the business users would want to only build visualizations or compose storyboards, then we can limit the data acquisition and preparation to the super/power users. In this case, the business users can do most of the functions using the Lumira Server itself.

But for both these cases, you would need to formally train the users on the tool. Or the longer route, you would need to go through the links and do hands on exercises for getting accustomed to the tool.

Hi Varun,

#2 is more appropriate in my case, Using LS I want them only be able to build visualizations with limited data acquisition. I am checking if there are any resources just for this purpose like a shortcut as I tried and explored a few documents and videos.

Reason I say shortcut is we don't have much time and want to quickly walk them through the stuff.

I understand Krishna. In case of Lumira Server for BI platform you get the following functionalities in Edit mode,

As you can see they can have the visualize and compose options and pretty much do anything with the data that they have access to.

In case of v1.31, we can consume HANA views from the BI launchpad.

Maybe you could refine/clarify this a little more

Since Lumira is a self-service tool, what part are you not following?  You should be able to try and do this yourself. 

Have you seen the enablement page?
