Removing & re-installing Crystal Report

Hello,

Crystal Report (2013) is installed on an old server which I need to replace. To re-install Crystal on my new server, do I just need to remove it from the old one? Nothing else? My license key will then be authorized for the new installation?

Hi Olivier,

Is it a Crystal Reports Server or Designer ?  If it is designer, then you can remove it from old server and install on new server.  The license key will work without any issues.

If it is a CR Server then you may have to contact your SAP Accounts manager for any license related issues.

thanks for your quick answer, much appreciated.

in the "about" section of the help menu, it says CR developper...see the print screen below.

To be very specific, I tried to install Crystal on the new server, without having un-installed it from the old.. and then I got the error message about the invalid Key. Which i understand. But I'm asking you as i need to be sure, that when I remove it from the old server, i'll have no problem at all to re-install it.

Does the remove option "free the license key" for a new installation?

Hi Olivier,

CR Designer is 'per user' license.

Meaning you can install it on as many machines you wish to *as long as the person who's licensed to use it* is the one using it!

IF you're receiving an invalid keycode error, make sure the old server also has the same version and that this key is valid for use with CR 2013 (14..x).

Well, my license key starts with: D7200-NWBKK3S.....

And look at the error message
