Hi,
I have tried to find some documents on replacing XI with BC. I found one document, how-to migrate sap bc scenarios to sap xi. I am little bit confused with that doc. It says URL, I dont see any URL there to import.
If anybody worked on replacing BC with XI, can you please help me on what can we import from BC in XI and how to do that?.
what can i do with the XML file from BC(Flow Service) in XI?. Any pointers, or further information is highly appreciated.
Thanks-in-advance.
Raj.
Hi Raj,
there a few a few tools like this one:
http://www.yellow2b.com/Yellow2B-Content_C-Content_full_1112108163571.html
however we did the migration by replacing the flow
with the BPMs or not in the XI manually
if you know BC and XI it's not that difficult to migrate
- but sometimes it's good to replace some things
with XI tools and not migrate everything as it goes...

Michal,
Thank you for the reply. I dont have any knowledge of BC.
So, I am trying to estimate what I can use from that environment. I cant buy that tool, yellow2b.
Can you please give me a clear explanation on
1. what can we use from BC
2. How can we do that?.
3. Where can we put it in XI?
4. What about Message mappings, can we get it from BC?
Is there any XML file there in BC, so that I can import it into XI?
Please dont mind, I have lot of questions, coz I am novice in BC.
I will be thankful, if you can send me an example doc, or something answers all my questions, without disturbing you a lot.
Thanks,
Raj.
Hi Raj,
There is an how-to-guide on Service market place at the following link. please take a look at it.

You can find the document at the following link.

Hi Raj,
>>>1. what can we use from BC
XSLT mappings if your BC scenarios use it
>>>3. Where can we put it in XI
in the interface mappings
the amount of objcects will depend mostly
on your BC configuration
for example serivices in the BC are very often written
in java and in the XI we have adapters
so not a lot you can do with it
mapping flow scenarios to BPMs or somethimes non BPM
in the XI should not be very diffucult in most cases
but like I said very ofeten you'll be able to
replace BC's functionality with XI's but it might be
slighty diffferent so it's good if you have access
to people who are using BC flows as you'll be tempted
to replace many BC objects with new XI objects
I suggest learning some BC before that migration
this way you'll know what in BC means what in the XI
but as I said it all depends on how your BC was configured as this is a veeery flexible tool and allows
many different approaches in scenario development

Sam and Michal,
Thank you very much for the help. I went through that document. In the first scenario, it was given that we need to take the URL from BC and configure it in the Receiver Comm Channel. Whats that URL from BC? What does it contains?.
Let me see, I will try to execute some scenario, to make myself clear.
Thanks anyways for your support.
BstRgds,
Raj.
Hi Raj,
The url should be the URL for your SAP BC Server.
It should be something like http://<SAP BC ServerName>:<SAP BC Port>/invoke/<folder>/<service>. Default port is 5555. But Find out correct port from SAP BC Administrator and use that in your URL.

Sam Raju
Hi Raj,
If you are an SAP Customer, SAP allows you to download SAPBC4.7 from Service Market Place. Download both Server and Integrator and play with it little bit to understand the SAPBC.
Once you download and install the SAP BC, You can start the SAP BC from the command prompt with the following command.
c:\ <BC Install Dir>/Server/bin/Server.bat -log none.
To view the homepage of the SAPBC Server enter the url.
http://localhost:5555 (5555 default port)
Once you start the server, you should be able to start the Developer or Integrator by clicking on the Integrator.bat file located in the <SAP BC Install directory>/Developer/bin directory.
SAP BC has some example Scenarios(WMExamples) which you could use to play and integrate with SAP XI.
Hope this helps.
Rgds,
Sam Raju
