The SAP System provides several workbenches to transfer data from legacy systems. Depending on the object type you want to transfer you use one of the following workbenches:

Data Transfer Workbench

The Data Transfer Workbench (SXDA) provides access to most of the SAP standard transfer programs and techniques. You can use the workbench in the following areas:

Cross-application functions (CA)

Financial Accounting and Asset Accounting (FI, FI-AA)

Real Estate Management (RE)

Logistics (LO)

Sales and Distribution (SD)

Material Management (MM)

Logistics Execution (LE)

Quality Management (QM)

Plant Maintenance (PM)

Production Planning and Control (PP)

Human Resources (HR)

External Data Transfer Tool

You can use the External Data Transfer Tool in the following areas:

Treasury (TR)

Central Business Partner

Executive Information System (EIS)

Profitability Analysis (CO-PA)

Bank Customer Accounts (BCA), Results and Risk Analysis in SAP Banking

Hi

It's a tools to upload the data.

Here you can find the library with all methods to load the data (BAPI, BI std,....).

You can create a project where you have to indicate the type of object: i.e. what and how you want to load.

Hi all

I am new to the trasaction SXDA (older version - SXDB) and want to know what's the advantage of this transaction over the traditional methods like LSMW, BAPIs, BDCs etc.?

Is this transaction is just a one-stop-shop for all those techniques or does it have more than that to it too?

Please reply asap as it's really important.

Thanks a lot.
