Hi Experts,
We have upgraded the portal from 7.0 to 7.4, After upgrade web dynpro z iviews are displaying blank page in IE9, 10, 11. Web dynpro java standard iviews are working fine.
It is working fine when we change the browser compatibility settings, But users have different type of browsers and OS.
Please suggest whether any solution is there to change the settings in Portal it self.
Your response will be appreciated.
Regards,
Vamshi Krishna.
Resolved this by adding a parameter SAP-IE=EmulateIE8 in SICF.

Hi Samanta,
Thanks for the information.
As you suggested, we have changed the document mode settings, But issue still persists in IE9.
we have around 1000 users where they are using different browsers/OS (IE8, IE9, IE10, IE11). Our requirement is to resolve this issue from portal end where all the services should be accessible in any browser.
Please suggest.
Regards,
Vamshi Krishna.

Hi Vamshi
As I have already mentioned earlier since January 2016 Microsoft has stopped its support for any Internet Explorer (IE) lower than IE11.
SAP can't support a browser that isn't being supported by its manufacturer, as a result SAP doesn't support older IE either.
So are you facing the issue only in IE 11? Or in other browser's like Chrome and Mozilla also ?
If the issue is faced in all browser's when accessed from portal, then check if the iView is working as a stand alone.
The steps to run the webdynpro standalone are:
- Go to the webdynpro iViews -> Open its properties -> select the property category "Webdynpro" Copy the "Application Namespace" and "Application Name"
Build the URL to run the iView standalone like below:
http://<hostname><domain>:<port>/webdynpro/dispatcher/ <Application Namespace>/<Application Name>

Hi Vamshi
As per your reply I see that you are facing the issue in IE 11 and when changing to Edge mode it works.
So it is due to the rendering mode mismatch of the portal and the application. The Portal runs in quirks mode and the application needs standards, this mismatch leads to the rendering pop ups.
So now to use the portal or application in standards mode you have the following two options :
- To make the portal run in standards mode by making use of the framework page - Ajax standards mode framework. With this the whole portal will run in standards mode and even the application
can be rendered within the portal in standards mode. But it's only available from NW7.31 SP14 and 7.4 SP9.

- To launch the application in the standards mode. In order to support standards mode rendering, a new option for the "Launch in New Window" attribute (for iviews/pages) was exposed. This new option,
"Display in separate headerless window (standards mode)", opens an application (iview/page) in a standards AJAX headerless portal framework.

If the issue is seen only in IE 11 but is working fine in other browser's( Chrome or Firefox), as per my understanding it is due to the rendering issue faced with Internet Explorer.
Can you please refer to the below scn document and carry each of the steps given in it.
