FPM Search guibb global variant

Hi Team,

I have a requirement to store the search variants of the search guibb globally.

How can we enable the option to create the search variant as globally? I tried adding the parameter '&sap-config-mode=x ' at the end of the URL and have checked for the options to save the variant as globally but didn't find any option for the same.

Below is the link from help.sap.com stating the new feature(global search variants):

Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.

Hi Kiran,

Have you checked if your user has the parameter FPM_CONFIG_EXPERT=X included in your user settings?

If so, you can call up applications in administrative mode by including the URL parameter '&sap-config-mode=x', as you did.

The application is then opened in administrator mode and the Customizing Mode banner is displayed above the title bar of the application. Thus, all modifications will be valid to all users in that client.

Thanks for the reply.I am able to go to the customizing mode but  what are the steps to store the variant globally in search guibb.

My requirement is every individual user should be able to save the variant globally. How can I achieve the same.

Hi Kiran,

I believe if a variant is created by an administrator on Customizing Mode, it set as Global by standard.

Did you test if the variants created on Customizing Mode appears as Global to other users?

Also, I don't think it is practical your scenario of having every individual users being able to save a variant globally. You would need to give administration rights to each user, which is not advisable.

Yes Felipe, you are correct it is storing the variant is global if the variant is created by administrator.
